We consider rational maps on the Riemann sphere of the form
$F_\lambda(z) = z^n + \lambda/z^n$, $\lambda \in C$, $n \in N$, which
can be regarded as singular perturbations of the polynomial $z_n$. It
is known that for some parameters the Julia sets of such maps are
homeomorphic to the Sierpinski carpet. We estimate the Hausdorff
dimension of the Julia sets of these maps for some parameters.
