Dynamics Days, founded in 1980, is one of the longest standing and most respected international series of meetings devoted to the field of dynamics and nonlinearity. Traditionally it has been bringing together researchers from a wide range of backgrounds including physics, biology, engineering, chemistry and mathematics for interdisciplinary research in nonlinear science.
Since its beginning, a key goal of Dynamics Days has been to promote the participation and cross-discipline interaction of young scientists together with more established experts from a wide variety of fields.
Dynamics Days South America 2012 is the second international conference of the Dynamics Days series in South America, after the successful first edition in Sao Jose dos Campos in 2010. This 2nd event will be hosted in Cartagena de Indias, one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean (Colombia).
The meeting is deliberately structured to encourage active participation from young scientists through both invited and contributed oral presentations and poster sessions.
The conference will be structured in plenary invited talks, minisymposium, contributed talks and poster sessions. It will cover in parallel, on the one hand, a broad range of dynamical systems areas and, on the other hand, it will be focussed on an important hot topic.
The conference will start on Tuesday, November 20 and it will end on Friday, November 23 around lunchtime.

The conference will be structured in plenary invited talks, minisymposium, contributed talks and poster sessions.
It will cover a broad range of topics in Dynamical Systems, including:
  • Applications in Engineering and Nanoscience
  • Applications in Sociology, Economics and Socio-Ecology
  • Applications of Dynamical Systems in Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Applications of Nonlinear Sciences
